Portable USB DAC/Amp

The hip-dac2 replaces the subpar DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and amplifier circuitry in smartphones, tablets, PCs, and Macs in order to greatly enhance the sound quality for headphones.

▪ Powerful 16-core XMOS chip processes data over USB
▪ Now a full MQA decoder
▪ Completes all three unfolds to deliver the highest possible sound quality
▪ Handles up to PCM 384kHz and DSD256

Balanced
  • Balanced analogue circuitry design for ultra-low distortion
  • Outstanding components including iFi OV op-amp, TDK C0G capacitors and a high-quality rotary volume pot
  • 4.4mm balanced analogue output
  • 3.5mm S-Balanced analogue outputs cuts distortion by 50% with single- ended headphones

Upgraded GMT clock
▪ Upgraded Global Master Timing clock circuitry
▪ Eradicates jitter and enhances sound quality

The amplifier stage includes a feature called PowerMatch, offering adjustable gain. This feature aligns the drive level with the headphone load by modifying input sensitivity and signal strength. Opt for the lower setting when using high-sensitivity headphones. If your headphones need more power, engage PowerMatch to boost the gain.

XBass is another customizable feature you can choose. It's a refined version of 'bass boost' that enriches low frequencies without compromising the midrange. This is especially beneficial for earphones and open-back headphones that might lack deep bass. XBass operates entirely in the analog realm, avoiding any alteration of the digital signal through DSP.
